Why it matters

Sometimes you need to see the property without being there

Not every inspection needs a physical visit. Live Inspections give property professionals a practical way to view a property remotely, speak to the person on site, capture evidence and complete a report while keeping the inspection personal and guided.

Travel time and cost

Reduce unnecessary journeys and keep your team focused on higher-value work.

Access and scheduling friction

Make it easier to arrange visits around tenants, landlords, owners or on-site contacts.

Remote maintenance diagnosis

See issues live and capture supporting evidence before deciding what needs to happen next.

Tenant-led walkthroughs

Guide the person on site through the property and ask the same questions you would in person.

Faster information capture

Capture photos, notes and report information during the live inspection.

Safer and more flexible visits

Support situations where a physical visit is unnecessary, inconvenient or not preferred.

How it works

How Live Inspections work

Designed to keep remote visits structured, secure and connected to the report you're creating in InventoryBase.

STEP 1

Enable Live Inspection

Create or open a report in InventoryBase and enable Live Inspection for the appointment.

STEP 2

Invite the remote party

Send the tenant, landlord, owner, guest or on-site contact a secure link and access code.

STEP 3

Join the live session

The remote party connects from their device. The property professional joins and guides the visit.

STEP 4

Walk through the property

Use live audio and video to direct the inspection, ask questions and review rooms or issues.

STEP 5

Capture photos and evidence

Ask the remote party to take high-quality photos; evidence uploads into the inspection workflow.

STEP 6

Complete the report

Finish the template, add actions or notes, review evidence and complete or share the report.

STEP 7

Keep the audit trail

Keep a record of the inspection, report activity, photos, updates and history in the property record.

Secure & controlled

Simple for the remote party, controlled for your team

The Live Inspections workflow uses secure links and access codes so the remote party can join the scheduled session from their device. The property professional guides the call, while the person on site stays in control of their device and can leave at any time.

If video recording is introduced, a consent and permissions step is shown before recording starts. Recording, where enabled, should be used with appropriate notice, consent and lawful basis.

Secure session link
Send the remote party a link and code for the scheduled appointment.
Accessible from mobile devices
Remote parties join from a compatible device using the Live Inspection app or approved route.
Scheduled access window
Access is tied to the inspection appointment and should not remain indefinitely open.
Remote party control
The person on site controls their device and can leave the session at any time.
Private by design
The app should not store property information locally after the session.
Clear permissions
Recording, where enabled, is clearly communicated and consented to before use.
